The Technician of the Year Award is intended to recognize an individual health-system pharmacy technician who has demonstrated outstanding achievement over years of service to the profession.

Criteria:

Suitable nominees include an individual that is a PSHP member who, through employment as a health-system pharmacy technician, has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in areas such as:

  • Development of, or involvement in, progressive program
  • Participation on an advisory committees, councils, and/or board activities
  • Self-improvement through participation in technical or professional societies including, but not limited to, PSHP
  • Activities promoting the profession of pharmacy (i.e.: CE lectures, posters, or other pharmacy related activities)
  • Community service activities

Nomination Process:
The nomination must be submitted in writing to a local PSHP chapter by a PSHP member. Supporting documents should include:

  • Nominee's Curriculum Vitae and/or resume
  • A letter of recommendation from the nominating chapter
  • Submission of up to four (4) letters from a diverse group of individuals that may include pharmacists, technicians, other health professionals, clergy, community leaders, etc.

Selection Process:

All nominations, with endorsement from the local chapters, will be reviewed by the Awards and Nominations Committee. The Committee will submit the name of a suitable, qualified nominee to the Board of Directors for consideration and approval.

Award Presentation:

The award will be presented at the Annual Assembly, which takes place in the Fall, each year that a deserving individual is selected for recognition. The award will consist of an engraved plaque. The award recipient will receive transportation, one (1) night's lodging, and registration for the PSHP Annual Assembly.
