The Pharmacist of the Year Award is PSHP's highest honor. This award recognizes sustained contributions to all aspects of the profession.

Criteria:

  • Implementation of innovative practice programs
  • Contributions to professional organizations including, but not limited to, PSHP
  • Sustained contributions to the profession
  • Education - teaching participation, in-services, preceptorship, education of health professionals within the institution)
  • Publications and Lectures (invited presentations)
  • Research
  • Community service
  • License to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • PSHP member

Nomination Process:

  • Nominee's Curriculum Vitae with evidence of accomplishments
  • A letter from the chapter president
  • Submission of up to five (5) letters from a diverse group of people which address the criteria listed above. Letters must be submitted through the local chapter,and only five (5) letters in total can be submitted to the nominations committee. Letters may be up to two (2) years old with an update from the local chapter president.
  • Material submitted should demonstrate the areas where the candidate meets the criteria. Candidates may be nominated more than once; however, no previous award winner(s) of the award for which they are being nominated are eligible for that same award, but they may be eligible for a different award. 

Selection Process:

All nominations, with endorsement from the local chapters, will be reviewed by the Awards and Nominations Committee. The Committee will submit the name of a suitable, qualified nominee to the Board of Directors for consideration and approval.

Award Presentation:

The award will be presented at the Annual Assembly, which takes place in the Fall, each year that a deserving individual is selected for recognition. The award will consist of an engraved plaque. The award recipient will receive transportation, one (1) night's lodging, and registration for the PSHP Annual Assembly.
