PSHP has some great Fall programs coming up that are open for registration on the PSHP website. This year PSHP is offering a full day of virtual education with CE at the Emergency Preparedness Management Virtual Summit on September 11th. Fostering emergency preparedness is pivotal in ensuring hospital and health system success during an emergency. The speakers for this summit include representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Pennsylvania Department of Health, Patient Safety Authority, Poison Control Center, and ASHP. Please join PSHP as we come together to listen to state and national speakers to learn from and how to support each other. If you are unable to join the Summit on September 11th, we hope you will join us virtually for the 52nd Annual Assembly on November 4th through 6th 2020. The Programming Committee evaluated past Annual Assembly feedback and have made some adjustments to this year's programming that we hope members will like. The Assembly offers 3 tracks of programming: Leadership, Pharmacy Practice, and Student Practice. This year on Friday, November 6th, the Programming Committee has prepared a full day of pharmacy technician focused CE and topics. All of the speakers are pharmacy technicians and members of PSHP. Our hope is the Annual Assembly provides the ability to share ideas and the accomplishments of pharmacy technicians across the state. We want to support our pharmacy technician members and get non-members to choose PSHP as the organization to support their needs with focused programming on topics of interest for technician professional development. Other changes for this year’s Annual Assembly include having the Residency Showcase at the local chapter levels instead of at the Annual Assembly. The will be a virtual exhibitor showcase and reverse trade show, CE for the Pharmacy Jeopardy session, and a networking session at the beginning of the conference. PSHP has more programming anticipated in the future as well to support members. For the Spring of 2021, we are planning two half-day Pharmacy Technician summits, one in eastern and the other in western PA. The Medication Safety Committee is planning Medication Safety webinars in the fall as well with more details to follow soon. Hope you can join these programs in the Fall.
