With the relaunch of the Western Chapter (WPSHP) occurring a year ago, we could have never predicted the global events that would impact our work and the barriers we would need to overcome to successfully relaunch the chapter.  The dedicated health care professionals in Western PA have continued to support WPSHP events, even though they look and feel different than our events even six months ago.  In June, WPSHP held a virtual CE event titled Clinical Pearls: Challenges in COVID-19 Patient Care with presenters from health systems across Western PA.  This CE was open to all pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, members and non-members, to help increase knowledge of how to care for COVID-19 patients. It was followed by a chapter meeting outlining new strategies to stay connected through virtual platforms.  WPSHP plans to have several additional CE and education presentations throughout the rest of the year to continue to engage our community.  Additionally, to engage our local student body, WPSHP was able to launch it’s mentor mentee program, which matches local pharmacists with students who have similar career interests. The success of this program thus far since May has prompted an expansion and continuation. This program has helped ignite local pharmacist and student interest in our newly launched chapter.
