Meet Your Board - Andy Hui, PharmD, BCPS, DVPSHP Programming Committee Chair

Andy Hui, PharmD, BCPS is the current Programming Committee Chair for the Delaware Valley Society of Health-System Pharmacists (DVSHP). He practices as the Internal Medicine Unit Based Clinical Pharmacist (UBCP) at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC). Andy is originally from Edison, New Jersey and earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Rutgers University. He completed his PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Jersey Shore University Medical Center (JSUMC) in Neptune, NJ and thereafter held a position as the Critical Care Operations Pharmacist. In 2014 Andy joined the team at Penn Medicine as a UBCP, where he precepts students from Jefferson College of Pharmacy and teaches medical students about medication reconciliation. He also acts as the preceptor for pharmacy residents for various rotations including Internal Medicine. 

Andy serves as the chair for the Unit Based Clinical Pharmacist Council, and is active in several PPMC committees such as Pain Management, Opioid Task Force, Residency Advisory Committee, and Unit Based Clinical Leadership (UBCL) for med-surg. His research and interests include transitions of care, opioid stewardship, informatics, anticoagulation, and emerging therapies like biopharmaceuticals. 

Andy is passionate about engaging new members and increasing pharmacy community involvement at the local, state, and national level. He is active in the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), Vizient, PSHP, and finds collaborating with pharmacy leaders fulfilling and exciting. Andy strives to organize events that are fun and rewarding for all DVSHP members. He enjoys serving as a Board Member at Large, and appreciates the opportunity to advance the society and its contributions to the future of pharmacy.
