Meet Your Board - Brad E Cooper, PharmD, MBA, DPLA, FCCM, PSHP President Elect

Brad Cooper is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Critical Care and the PGY1 Residency Program Director at UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA.  Brad received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Purdue University and subsequently completed a Clinical Pharmacy Residency at Hamot followed by a Critical Care Residency at The Ohio State University.  He has subsequently been at his present position for over 30 years.  He completed the ASHP leadership Academy in 2014 and subsequently went on to complete his Master’s in Business Administration: Focus in Healthcare from New England College in 2015. 

Brad has been active in numerous organizations and has held many officer positions including Chair of the Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology Section of Critical Care Medicine.  He has been president of NWPHSP and has served as a board member of PSHP and as chair of the membership committee of PSHP. 

Brad is co-editor and co-author of the book: Drug-induced Complications in the Critically Ill Patient: A Guide for Recognition and Treatment.  In addition to participating in multidisciplinary rounds in the intensive care units at UPMC Hamot, Brad serves on several quality improvement process teams, and has developed many treatment protocols and processes to improve patient safety and care.  Brad is grateful for the opportunity to serve as President Elect of PSHP and looks forward to continued growth and success of this organization.
