PSHP Hosts Summit on Diversion to Combat Increase

According to Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, drug diversion by health care professionals was up 71% in 2017. A total of 206 arrests were made as a result of a recent crackdown by the AG's office (source).

Is your department equipped to identify diversion and take action if it occurs in your facility? Join us for a one-day summit next week on Thursday, April 5 in Harrisburg where expert speakers will examine the scope of the opioid epidemic in PA, review case studies, identify techniques to prevent and identify diversion, and hear from a DEA agent. Opioid stewardship and provider recovery will also be addressed.

This unique program is accredited for multiple provider types - pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and registered nurses, with the goal of educating everyone on your team. We are extending member pricing to departments with at least one PSHP member and can process group registrations to save you time. The member rate to register is just $50 and includes breakfast and lunch.

Diversion can happen anywhere - make sure you are ready.
