Learning Objectives:

  1. At the end of this activity, the participant will be able to:
    Delineate the major changes in how hazardous waste pharmaceuticals must be managed under EPS’s new Final Rule.
  2. Evaluate how changes in the Final Rule may impact their current pharmaceutical waste disposal processes in terms of compliance and cost savings.
  3. Examine current controlled substance disposal processes and evaluate compliance and cost-effectiveness in both the pharmacy and patient care areas.
