Title: Striving to Do The Impossible: Treating Acute Pain in Patients Receiving Buprenorphine

Goals and Objectives:
1) Describe pharmacokinetic properties of buprenorphine when used for both pain and substance use disorder
2) Outline challenges for acute pain treatment when receiving buprenorphine
3) Recommend strategies for the treatment of acute pain when on buprenorphine

Amedco is an approved by the Accrediation Council on Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmaceutical education that complies with the Criteria for Quality for continuing pharmaceutical education programming. This program ACPE Program ID is acceptable for 1 hour (0.1 CEU) of continuing education credit in states that recognize ACPE Providers. Statements of completion of continuing pharmaceutical education will indicate date, hours and CEUs of the program based on the participant’s attendance. After the live CE, attendees must complete a continuing pharmaceutical education evaluation on-line to receive continuing education credit
