Learning Objectives

After attending this program, the participant should be able to:
1. Describe the epidemiology and pathophysiology of status epilepticus
2. Define and explain the progression of status epilepticus, refractory status epilepticus, and super-refractory status epilepticus
3. Discuss the management strategies for status epilepticus and refractory status epilepticus
4. Evaluate pharmacologic therapy including ketamine, inhaled anesthetics, immunotherapy, and experimental therapy for super-refractory status epilepticus
5. Examine the role of non-pharmacologic therapy for super-refractory status epilepticus
